Manduka now provides a hot yoga towel additionally to this standard version, but Amazon doesn’t seem to carry it yet. It is more plush, and should you sweat buckets, I highly recommend it. Numerous absorbent yoga towels I’ve tried don’t give quite enough, but the new one obtainable on their website does.

I just used the towel for the initial time this morning, during the seated primary series. I haven’t tried it for the standing asanas, since I don’t sweat as well much then. It feels great against my skin, sticks to the mat, and handles sweat well: my toes didn’t slip throughout janu sirasana B, and the towel didn’t bunch at all during vinyasas. Felt excellent throughout headstand, as well. My mat’s about the older side and showing some wear, but hopefully this will prolong its life in addition to making my practice a little much more enjoyable.

I’ve been practicing yoga for awhile now and I was so sick of slipping on my rubber mat. I started using hand towels that my studio provided under my hands and feet and it was just obtaining ridiculous! After reading reviews and comparing products I decided about the eQua towel. Now I have sweaty hands and feet just throughout regular yoga so this mat started working during the first downward dog. I can also now do my side angle, warrior and triangle poses without slipping into the splits. I love it and its worth the money. I bought this product because my favorite yoga towels devices are no longer available. Imagine my surprise when this was a bit ‘bigger’ soft ‘, more absorbent and so light and easy to treat, as my old ones. Bonus! I LOVE these towels. I do Bikram Yoga. Stick to my mat, absorb, as there is no tomorrow, and stand up to regular washing. A towel perfect yoga.

Obtained with this opaque black cloth Manduka’s. The Ashtanga Vinyasa practice, and I had a problem with towels move, attack or otherwise be a distraction during vinyasas and the main movements of the series. Not so with this towel! And ‘soft on top, and keeps the carpet, without following me. And since it is microfiber, it rolls into a tight package for easy transport. N. more bulky towel or carpet around July! Sure glad I got it, and I will get another or two to scroll through practice.

This towel works best when it is wet the sponge, where you can place your feet and hands with a little ‘of water. This prevents you from sliding down when the dog. I like the absorption of this sheet.

I bought the black mat due to great Amazon Customer reviews. Bottom line with this mat: If you are going to use the mat to constantly go to the yoga studio, buy the Purple Travel Mat from Manduka. If you are keeping this Black mat at home and not needing to travel with it, its an excellent mat. The Purple Travel mat is great for traveling, light weight enough and provided adequate yet firm padding for joints/knees. The Black Mat which I returned due to its weight and bulkiness, is better as a stationery, at home mat. Its depends on where you pratice your yoga. Both Manduka mats a wonderful products.

I have tight hamstrings. Down-dog is very hard for me, and my version of the asana is rather wide, creating thrust at hands and feet. I bought this mat hoping to get better grip, especially when sweating, than is possible on lighter mats. The extra weight is acceptable, and even the ridiculously high price I can handle in exchange for durability and a truly non-slip surface. Oh well. As delivered, the surface is actually the slickest of any of my four yoga mats. I have used the mat twice, and then went looking for the packaging to return it. But one of my teachers suggested that I scrub it with a stiff brush, hot water, and a little dishwashing detergent. This really helped, and now I really like this mat. I wonder why it doesn’t come iwth instructions for this necessary prep-work? Or, better yet, why not ship it ready to use? After all, for $80, one expects a rectangle of rubber that is virtually perfect. Anyway, the prep-work isn’t too onerous, just annoying.

I’m a yoga instructor and decided to treat myself to a primo yoga mat when my old mat started to wear thin. I ordered this one after reading the reviews but I guess it didn’t sink in how heavy this baby is. If you only have to carry this to class, you’re golden. In fact, you will get an excellent upper body workout just walking to class. If you are like me and have to carry extra yoga mats, eye pillows, a gym bag and a 13 month old, forget it. I just didn’t see what was so great about this one. For that price it should do yoga FOR YOU. There are nice, thick yoga mats out there that cost half as much. Wai Lana makes some premium mats that are very nice. As for me, I think I’ll try the Drishti next.

If you know anything about manduka mats you know this is the best. This is the mercedes of yoga mats and padded enough for pilates too. It is pricey, but you will not be disappointed!

I’ve searched for the perfect mat for a while now. It didn’t have to be cute or pink I just wanted a mat that lasted longer than 6 months. The mats I was buying would begin to flake and by the end of class would end on my skin. Embarassing!!! It doesn’t make any sense for me to buy enviromentally friendly mats anymore because I now have 6 unusable mats in my garage. A little research brought me to the Manduka Black mat. I have high expectations for this mat. I don’t have any complaints really. I think I need to break it in a little more. Too soon to tell whether or not I’ll shred this one too. Only time will tell.
